Thank you for lending a hand during the holidays!

The staff and faculty at the Family Resource Center and Child Development Department would like to thank all of the community members and students of Los Angeles Valley College for helping us to support the Village Family Services and make their food drive a great success!

With all of your efforts, we were able to provide hundreds of families with delicious meals so they could bond together and enjoy the thanksgiving holiday.

Thank you to all and we hope that you all enjoyed your thanksgiving holiday too!

Participate in our Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Child Development Department and Family Resource Center is sponsoring the Village Family Services to help provide a nourishing Thanksgiving meal for families in need. The Village Family Services (VFS) “helps children who are born into families with extreme poverty, where unemployment and criminal activities are ways of life. These challenges often lead to domestic violence, chronic abuse and life-threatening neglect. The VFS helps these families with foster care/adoption, parenting classes, and other support services to help them get back on their feet and stop the cycle of abuse.”

Would you like to help us support these families? You may help by donating food to provide these families with an opportunity to come together during the holidays to eat and enjoy.

We are accepting the following donations:

  • Canned vegetables
  • Boxed stuffing mix
  • boxed potatoes/rice/noodle side dish
  • Gravy mix
  • Canned cranberry sauce
  • Boxed dessert mix
  • $5 gift card to a grocery store
  • Brown paper bags

You may drop off your food donations before Tuesday, November 22nd at:

  • LAVC Child Development Dept.
  • Family Resource Center
  • ASU Office (Student Services Center 2nd Floor)
